Pet Airlines Travel
Most of the pet owners cringe with fear when they think of the fact that they might have to leave their pets behind while embarking on a tour or going abroad on a vacation.
Here is a list of airlines and their contact numbers along with their pet policies:
• Alaska airlines: this airline allows small dogs to be taken into the cabins in crates by their owners. The boarding fee for the pet for each way is about $75. The pets and the carrier weight should be a combined 149lbs.
• America west/ US Airways: like most other airlines there is a strict rule of not allowing any pet onboard the Hawaiian flights. The airline charges $80 for each way journey for each pet. The customer is also required to be above 18 years of age to be eligible to carry the pet onboard.
• United airlines: this airline provides the customer the facility to ship their pets unaccompanied as well. The charge for carrying your pet onboard is about $85 for one way.
If you are planning pet air travel, it will be good idea to check the airline’s website and check to see which papers you need to carry while boarding the flight. Make sure you have your pet’s passport ready in case the flight is an International one.
All pets are required to have a veterinarian’s certificate validating that they are fit to aboard a plane and are imperfect health condition; sometimes the owners also need to document the fact that their pets are acclimatized to temperatures below 45 degrees.
